What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychologist position at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare?
The Department of Neuropsychology and Psychology at Casa Colina is currently recruiting for a per diem rehabilitation psychologist or rehabilitation neuropsychologist position. Clinical health psychologists may also be appropriate candidates. This position will be primarily staffing our Transitional Living Center, which is a post-acute rehabilitation unit with both residential and day treatment programs primarily serving patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injuries. Coverage in our inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital for screening evaluations may also be possible.
This psychologist’s primary responsibilities will include neuropsychological screening evaluations, capacity assessment, providing education regarding diagnoses and associated sequelae with patients and family members, consultation to referring and treating physicians and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, risk assessment, and provision of psychological services to facilitate behavioral management and adjustment to disability. This psychologist will also supervise students in our doctoral psychology/neuropsychology practicum training and contribute to our didactic training program. A background in cognitive rehabilitation would be very beneficial. This position requires a strong understanding of traumatic brain injury, stroke, general rehabilitation principles, health psychology, and co-occurring psychological disorders.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a breadth of experience in neuropsychological assessment and/or treatment, rehabilitation, and behavior modification with adult cases. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, from an APA accredited institution in clinical psychology, with an emphasis in neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology, health psychology, or related field. The successful candidate must have completed post-doctoral training in neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology.
The candidate must be licensed in the State of California. One year professional experience in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation setting preferred. Candidates who are competent in conducting evaluations and treatment in Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.
Duties may include (but are not limited to): assessment, psychoeducation, individual,
family, and group psychotherapy, behavior modification, interdisciplinary
consultations, as well as co-treatment with other disciplines.
