Head Chef/Food Service Manager

Casa de Amma is seeking a passionate, experienced Head Chef/Food Service Manager to lead our Food Service Program. This individual will play a key role in creating and delivering originally healthy, nutritious, appealing, and tasty meals in a warm and welcoming environment that fosters social connection, comfort, and a sense of belonging.

Casa de Amma is a unique, supportive residential apartment community serving adults with special needs. Our goal is to offer a life-enriching experience that supports independence, dignity and personal growth – and food/healthy meals play a vital role in our residents’ health and daily living.

The Head Chef/Food Service Manager will be responsible for:

· Prepare and cook meals in a licensed kitchen and onsite dining area for approximately 47 residents.

· Design weekly menus that are healthy, seasonal, and appealing, accommodating dietary needs as necessary.

· Responsible for grocery shopping and food supply purchasing to maintain adequate inventory and provide meals as planned.

· Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment following all Federal, State and local health regulations and Casa de Amma protocols.

· Work alongside Casa staff and residents to foster a positive and inclusive mealtime atmosphere.

· Maintain food safety logs and ensure all procedures meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

· Prior experience as Head Chef, Food Service Manager, or similar role. Experience with the special needs’ population is a plus.

· Passion for healthy, whole-food cooking and community-based food service.

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan, prepare, and serve multiple meals daily.

· Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.

· Valid CA Driver’s License with a clean driving record as we utilize company vehicles.

· Ability to pass DOJ/FBI fingerprinting, background checks and drug screening.
