What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Coordinator position at CASA for Kids, Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the volunteers, including recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers
- supervise and support volunteers and their case management
- Provide leadership and support to volunteers, ensuring a positive and rewarding experience
- Collaborate with other agencies in case management
- Supervise volunteers, be aware of the case in progress, providing consultation and oversight of case investigations and guidance in proper report writing.
-Maintain up-to-date individual volunteer files.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in social service-related field
- Ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles. Experience with volunteers given preference.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect.
- Experience in a court setting preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
