What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Education Lead - ECLC (9106) position at Casa Grande Elementary School District?
The job of Early Childhood Education Lead is done for the purpose/s of providing quality care for children in the District's Early Childhood Extension Program.
Essential Functions:
- Arranges the environment
- Assumes tasks assigned by the Site Director and/or Program director
- Attends required staff meetings and obtains a minimum of 18 hours of job-related training each year with verification of attendance to be placed in personnel file
- Communicates with parents in a positive and effective manner, acknowleding and greeting parents, visitors, and children when they arrive and depart
- Documents communications, phone messages, written correspondence, parental requests and concerns
- Facilitates children's activities in various areas, e.g. physical, social, emotional, and cognitive, etc.
- Follows the Casa Grande Elementary School District Governing Board Policies and Procedures, Community Services Staff Handbook, and the rules and regulations of the Department of Health Services and accreditation agency
- Maintains a clean and organized inside and outside environment
- Maintains accountability of children, making sure they are signed in and out daily by an authorized person
- Maintains emergency information and sign-in sheets for each child
- Maintains on-going communication with the Site Leader and other staff members
- Monitors supplies and maintenance needs of the facility
- Participates in children's activities
- Provides an atmosphere where children are safe, and feel nurtured and valued
- Provides information for the site's monthly newsletter
- Responsible for creating written activity/lesson plans, and for posting current activity/lesson plans, lunch and snack menus and "Look What We Did Today" board
- Responsible for reading the Staff Notebook and signing in and out daily
- Responsible for the supervision of children and the implementation of acitvities
- Uses appropriate and positive discipline and communication techniques with staff, parents, and children
- Assists other personnel as may be required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pre-employment proficiency test
- Criminal justice/fingerprint clearance
- Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English
This is a 10 month School Year position only.
