POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Student Success is responsible for the planning, directing and administration of the above listed programs/services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership (Required)
- Three years of experience in interpreting and implementing state and federal laws related to special education or equivalent
- Three years of progressively responsible special education administrative experience or equivalent
- Experience with budget and grants management
- Current Arizona Administrative and SEI Full Endorsement Certifications
- Familiarity with the legal requirements of above listed programs
- Equivalent combination of education/training/experience
- Experience in teaching and/or administration of regular or special programs
- Familiarity with programs for at-risk students
- Familiarity with general and specialized curricula
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and directs the activities of the above listed programs.
- Interprets federal and state statutes, develops policy, develops strategy for the implementation of policy and directives within the above listed programs.
- Develops Student Success budget and monitors conduct of the program and allocates/reallocates funds, physical and human resources, as necessary.
- Ensures that Casa Grande Union High School District Schools meets all legal responsibilities regarding above mentioned programs.
- Determines program guidelines and monitors student and staff progress and develops a system for the continuous evaluation of programs
- Collaborate with the grants department to support grant needs.
- Provides information to general education staff and principals.
- Coordinates services for Long Term Suspended ESS Students.
- Attends Long Term Suspension Hearings as the district representative.
- Monitors the discipline for the above mentioned student programs.
- Collaborates with building principals and the ESS coordinators, and related service staff.
- Overseeing the above mentioned programs
- Analyzes assessments to help determine learning plans.
- Leads professional development for special education staff
- Evaluates program effectiveness.
- Monitor and review tuition out school (TOS) student IEPs and METs
- Collaborate with TOS leaders.
- Collaborates and participates in decisions involving alternative student placement.
- Supports the district Foster Care Point of Contact.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
- Supervises and directs the assessment plans for the above mentioned programs.
- Attends IEP and MET meetings as needed by school sites.
- Works with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to implement and monitor highly effective PLCs.
- Supports school counselors to address our counseling philosophy, scheduling, and credit checks.
- Research parent and staff concerns, counsels them on program content, their obligations and responsibilities, and negotiates solutions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and salary recommendations.
- Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring and expertise to individual team leaders, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
- Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.
