POSITION SUMMARY:

The Casa Grande Union High School District Principal will have the duty to foster a healthy learning environment for the students with the primary responsibility to supervise the education staff and oversee day-to-day school operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in education
- Valid Arizona administrator certificate
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
- Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role
- Previous experience as a principal or in similar role
- Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish is a plus
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all school operations.
- Manage school logistics and budgets.
- Set learning goals for students and teachers based on national and research-based curriculum.
- Monitor and report on teacher performance.
- Present data from school performance to board members.
- Research new resources and techniques to improve teaching.
- Interview and hire school personnel.
- Provide guidance and counseling to teachers.
- Provide oversight and be responsible for school safety, the development and implementation of a site emergency response plan in conjunction with the District plan.
- Possess the ability to handle emergencies and school crisis
- Oversight for the organization and supervision of all school activities, including evening events.
- Oversight regarding adequate supervision of students in the classroom, in the cafeteria and restrooms, on the campus, and in the surrounding areas.
- Stays abreast of modern trends in education through study, observation, school visitations, and attendance at educational conferences. Set performance objectives for students and teachers.
- Implement and monitor school policies and safety protocols.
- Assists with professional development and the development of strategies and programs involving technology, innovations, content standards, and methodology for the improvement of instruction and student learning.
- Develop and evaluate educational programs, and willing to maintain focus upon the district and site goals using student performance and staff performance data towards improvement.
- Collect and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data, facilitating discussions amongst teachers and staff, and working with school leaders.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Observes, supervises, and evaluates the performance of teachers, administrators and classified staff.
- Maintains close relationships with parents and community; emphasizes positive public relations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervise employees.
- Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and recommendations.
- Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring and expertise to individual team leads, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
- Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.
