Overview
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Yard Switcher/Warehouse Workers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for movement of trucks in the yard, ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse, contributing to the smooth flow of goods and materials. This position requires the skill of operating a semi-truck with a trailer, moving to loading area. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate various types of warehouse equipment including forklifts, manual jacks and pallet jacks, to load and unload materials.
- Safely drive semi-trucks with trailers to loading dock doors or where needed in yard.
- Preform pre and post trip inspections.
- Safely be able to climb in and out of tractors to hook, unhook and inspect trailer.
- Must be able to monitor and adjust temperature setting for requirement of load.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist in inventory management by accurately tracking incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Work in warehouse as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience operating semi and box trucks is preferred.
- CDL class A or B preferred, must have valid drivers license.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is essential; certification may be required.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Strong ability to load and unload products efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Prior experience in commercial driving or route driving is advantageous but not necessary for all applicants.
