Controller

Job Summary:

Controller is responsible for managing the organization's accounting functions and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial information. The position oversees accounting policies, procedures, and systems while providing strategic financial oversight. The Controller reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and plays a critical role in maintaining the company’s financial health and compliance with accounting regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Oversee the preparation and management of financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
• Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Provide analysis on financial trends and performance.
• Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, and accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS). Prepare and submit all required financial filings, including tax returns.
• Accounting Operations: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Audit Coordination: Lead external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors. Implement recommendations and adjustments as needed.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff. Promote a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
• Financial Analysis: Provide analysis of financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other financial metrics to senior management.
• Cash Management: Oversee cash flow and ensure the company's financial resources are effectively allocated.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), tax regulations, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP Systems) and advanced Excel skills.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to senior management and external stakeholders

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
