What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Coordinator position at CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties?
DUTIES: This position will engage with potential volunteers to ensure effective and efficient onboarding, maintain regular communication with volunteers to facilitate assignment of duties and evaluation of service, and provide department support of training and continuing education. Works collaboratively with Training and Volunteer Director and Programs Department for successful execution of duties.
Volunteer Engagement:
- Responds to volunteer inquiries to assess interest in CASA volunteer opportunities
- Initiates application process and facilitates scheduling of fingerprinting and interviews
- Oversees/coordinates the recording and tracking of each volunteer's progress from inquiry to assignment
- Ensures that volunteers are provided with high-level customer care and are supported through the onboarding process
- Maintains accurate and current statistics of volunteer engagement and outcomes
- Utilizes Volunteer and Case Management Systems to track volunteer information and data
Volunteer Screening:
- Oversees/coordinates the process of opening volunteer file and sending out references and background checks
- Oversees/coordinates the completion of background checks and references on potential volunteers
- Informs applicant about volunteer opportunities and expectations
- Notifies applicant of status and upcoming volunteer training schedule
- Assists in assigning volunteer to specific programs or duties
Volunteer Training:
1. Assists with preparation for all training classes
2. Acts as moderator for training classes as requested by Director
3. Assists with annual updating of the volunteer training manual in consultation with the Director
4. Responsible for identifying continuing education opportunities
5. Coordinates scheduling and communication of continuing education opportunities to staff and volunteers
6. Assists with planning and coordination of volunteer events and activities, such as Court Nights, Coffee Shops, etc.
Volunteer Retention:
- Maintains ongoing communication with volunteers throughout their time with CASA
- Conducts periodic evaluations to assess volunteer satisfaction and program effectiveness/impact
- Assist with volunteer administration and compliance needs
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of expertise preferred
- Two to three years of relevant experience preferred
- Proficient in technology, particularly experience with Microsoft products
Salary : $32,000 - $48,000
