Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to families and children in need, ensuring their safety and well-being by recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers from the community to work with cases of child abuse appointed by the Court. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, volunteering, or related fields, with experience in child protective services, crisis management, and family law. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Duties
- Facilitate communication between families, social workers, and other relevant parties to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Participate in service planning meetings to identify the needs of children and families, providing appropriate resources and referrals.
- Support volunteers in their direct work with children who are victim to abuse and neglect.
- Participate in conflict resolution efforts among families and service providers to promote positive relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteers, trainings, court hearings, and meetings while ensuring confidentiality.
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to enhance support services for families.
- Provide training and support to volunteers regarding best practices in the CASA role.
Experience
- A bachelors degree in a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in child protective services, volunteer management, or family law is desirable.
- Knowledge of supervisory techniques to better support volunteers is desirable.
- Familiarity with child welfare policies and procedures.
- Experience working with children in various settings including their home of origin.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
