Job description
Casa Recovery is looking to hire Behavioral Health Technicians to join our Operations team. Our BHT staff monitor and report aspects of our clients' daily activities while helping to provide a safe, clean, and supportive living environment. BHT staff play a critical role in creating and maintaining the environment that supports our resident's while they undergo their healing journey at Casa Recovery.
The shifts available encompass a weekly schedule of Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM covering our supportive living home.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 1-year previous experience in behavioral health, recovery, or similarly related field preferred
- Minimum of 6 months of sobriety if in recovery
- TB Clearance
- Valid California Driver’s Licenses and DMV background check with clean driving record
- Ability to use computer to write, send and read emails
- Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with residents
- Ability to establish respectful, cooperative working relationships with staff, and supervisor
- Basic knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, and an understanding of PHP/IOP treatment experience, support meetings including 12-step and other modalities used within a recovery/ treatment setting
Responsibilities
- Enforce Casa’s standards, policies and procedures, house rules, code of conduct, and rights of residents
- Monitor residents and provide a nightly report to include resident’s daily activities, attendance at supportive meetings, chores, and compliance with house rules
- Transport residents to and from outpatient programs, scheduled off-site activities, meetings, resident outings, physician appointments, and other activities
- Laundry and house cleaning as needed including for room changes/ new resident arrivals
- Conduct random urinalysis drug screens / breathalyzer tests and document accordingly
- Participate in ongoing human resources, health & safety, and clinical training as well as regularly scheduled staff meetings
- Coordinate and conduct weekly house meetings to discuss internal conflicts, communication needs etc.
- Management and responsibility of stocking groceries, toiletries, supplies etc.
- Peer support for residents with any concerns including adjustment to a new environment, roommate differences etc.
- Conduct resident orientation which includes a review of house rules, chores, and safety drills
- Assist clients in learning new life skills including cooking and cleaning
- Immediately report all incidents and health and safety hazards to supervisor
- Report facility and vehicle maintenance issues to supervisor
- Additional duties may be required if deemed necessary

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
