What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN- Weekends, Treatment Center position at Casa Serena?
Casa Serena is a residential substance use, mental health, trauma and eating disorder treatment center for women only. We are currently looking to add creative, compassionate and innovative individuals to the team in the position of RN Program Nurse!
As Santa Barbara's only licensed and accredited treatment program for women, we deliver high quality integral care in a collaborative team environment. Our unique curriculum is designed to help women and staff flourish. We believe in providing our staff with the resources and tools necessary to make a lasting impression on our vulnerable population.
Primary Purpose and Function
The Program Nurse collaborates with the medical and clinical team to maintain a structured environment within the facility by providing a safe, positive, intellectual, emotional and social living environment for clients.
Schedule: Part Time Weekends (day shift), and occasional fill in during the week as needed (if available).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide medical, operational and clinical support to respective departments
- Provide psychoeducation and medical support to clients
- Assist with client admissions and discharges
- Observe and report client behavior that may require medical or psychological intervention
- Provide documentation throughout shift according to policies and procedures
- Facilitate self-administration of medication observation
- Perform vitals and assist with detox withdrawal screenings
- Execute phone orders and ensure proper follow up documentation according to policy
- Perform medication reconciliation as required
- Perform crisis management as needed
- Conduct UA drug screening
- Assist medical and clinical team in providing a professional and compassionate environment
- Ensure a safe and positive treatment environment throughout the facility
- Ensure TJC compliance within the nursing and medical departments
- Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
- RN License Required
- Associates Degree or higher in Nursing
- Addiction and/or mental health experience preferred
- Treatment Center experience preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records a plus
