What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach and Engagement Supervisor position at CASA-Trinity?
The Outreach and Engagement Supervisor will be responsible for oversight over CASA-Trinity Outreach and Engagement programs and efforts (SOR/DIVERT, PES, Connections2Care, Peer Services, Recovery Centers, YHP, Non-Medical Transportation) within their assigned locations. Under the auspices of the Vice President of Outpatient Services, the Outreach and Engagement Supervisor serves as a mentor/coach delivering guidance, training and both clinical and non-clinical support to all CASA-Trinity Outreach Programs and will participate in the development of future outreach and engagement and community response programs.
The primary office location could be Hornell or Dansville. Hours are M-F, hybrid schedule.
CASAC or other QHP status required.
Essential Job Functions
· Oversee the day-to –day development and operations of outreach and engagement and recovery programs, ensuring motivation, compliance and performance levels are maintained.
· Provides direct QHP supervision to include guidance, feedback and training to outreach and engagement staff which supports continuous improvement of community outreach/engagement and client recovery.
· Responsible for scheduling and on-call time, monitoring and approving timesheets.

· Responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting data as it relates to various contracts/programs in our system.
· Performs initial and ongoing assessments and evaluations in both Community and clinic of clients' needs, motivations, and backgrounds; prepares substance abuse bio-psychosocial/assessment summaries in order to determine appropriate level of care as it relates to O&E programming.
· Ensures that all documentation is completed in a timely and comprehensive manner and in compliance with OASAS and Medicaid regulations, effectively utilizing medical records software program(s).
· Effectively utilizes agency’s medical records software program(s) to complete required medical record documentation in a timely and comprehensive manner and in compliance with NYS OASAS and federal regulations including Public Health Law, 42CFR and patient confidentiality policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· Maintains employee productivity by allocating resources and delegating tasks appropriate to employee skills and availability.
· Coordinates daily outreach and engagement activity.
· Coordinates and tracks/reports community Narcan trainings and other outreach events.
· Assists recovery staff with credentialing and continuing education requirements.
· Actively participates in professional supervision, mentoring and education with staff to support continuous improvement of client care.
· Adhere to agency policies and procedures regarding confidentiality and other governmental and/or agency regulations.
· Meets with Vice President of Outpatient Services for supervision on a regular basis to receive ongoing support and oversight.
· Collaborate and co-operate with community supports and providers such as the department of social services, VESID program, local physicians’ offices, hospitals, etc. to help guide clients towards successful attainment of their recovery goals.
· Utilizes dashboard to delegate outreach tasks for increased client engagement within the clinics.
Secondary Functions
· Participates as a contributing member of an interdisciplinary team in coordination and delivery of client care.
· Participates in professional education that supports continuous improvement of client care including weekly case management staff meetings.
· Consistently reviews policies and procedures and stays abreast of current laws, regulations and policies.
· Performs other related work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· The principles and practices of planning, organizing and supervising community mental health and/or substance use disorder programs.
· In cooperation with Human Resources; recruit, select, manage, support, train, develop and evaluate staff in accordance with applicable laws and agency policies.
· Demonstrated leadership and training skills to manage and motivate staff and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees, vendors, clients, visitors, and outside agencies.
· Ability to develop reports and proposals including ability to accurately audit records and ensure compliance within written or oral guidelines.
· Ability to collect and analyze data and apply results to program design and implementation.
· Advanced knowledge of substance abuse problems and their effects on the individual and family members including human behavior, attitudes, and motivations and their applicability in the treatment/rehabilitation of the substance abuser and/or offender.
· Advanced knowledge of substance abuse counseling and treatment principles, practices, and techniques.
· Knowledge of resources available to individuals with substance use disorder.
· Ability to accurately oversee and audit documentation of services, treatment records, and reports utilizing computer databases and software programs including proficiency with spreadsheets.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and the general public.

· Must be able to drive a vehicle, both personal and company as position requires travel throughout counties that programs serve as well as client transports.
· Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to drive.
The Outreach and Engagement Supervisor must be able to prioritize situations and manage time, and may find that they are needed at irregular hours causing fatigue and stress. The Coordinator may experience stress and stress related symptoms due to interacting with clients in recovery. S/he may be exposed to illness and unsanitary conditions so must take care to protect their own health. They may also have to manage physically threatening clients and be prepared to be responsible for their own safety, and the safety of others.
Work Environment
The employee is expected to adhere to strict policies/regulations relative to being in a tobacco and alcohol free workplace. Work is performed both in an office environment and in the community, and will require travel.
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling or other related field required and at least 2 years of experience in clinical setting, prior supervisory experience preferred. CASAC or other Qualified Health Professional (QHP) under NYS regulatory guidelines is mandatory for CRPA supervision. Requires a valid driver’s license with no more than 4 points and no moving violations within the past 6 months.
