SALARY RANGE (EXEMPT): $78,500 - $82,000

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member of Cascade’s Leadership Team, the Product Cost Analyst will be responsible for managing the price setting of new products, quarterly repricing of existing products, and monitoring the commercialization of new products from beginning stages through production trials and launch. This will require effective cross departmental communication, and facilitation, with supply chain, sales, the innovation team, and operations to create and monitor an effective process for product pricing and launches.
The ideal candidate will have experience with excel, data analytics, have exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills, be highly organized, and comfortable communicating across all departments and levels of the organization. They will need to utilize a strong business acumen to understand the costs of new and existing products and take a proactive yet collaborative approach to accomplish business goals.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor quarterly pricing schedule and communicate concerns or disruptions.
- Complete quarterly and periodic repricing of existing customers.
- Responsible for inputting data into complex costing models and monitoring SKU level margin for appropriateness.
- Maintain as well as organize historical cost records.
- Prepare monthly sales reports to monitor margin performance to budget and identify areas of opportunity.
- Work closely with green coffee procurement to establish pricing standards and monitor material cost changes that would trigger a reprice.
- Maintain material lists by customer and work with Intelligence Manager to calculate PPV.
- Analyze material costs and communicate with procurement to understand major cost drivers.
- Develop and maintain a standardized tracking system for material costs for ease of communication with customers on price changes.
- Calculate weekly green coffee PPV for weekly KPI and accounting accrual capture.
- Analyze customer profitability, supporting margin and pricing decisions that contribute to financial targets.
- Monitor and support leaders in variance analysis of actual to budget, strategic plans, and/or project-related initiatives such as profitability studies, cost modeling, sensitivity analysis, etc.
- Participate and/or lead special projects, prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis.
- Observe and evaluate new project processes and identify areas of improvement.
- Monitor the process and timeline for new business projects to ensure project goals are met.
- Monitor tools such as checklists and project plans, with clear responsibilities and due dates.
- Facilitate process, organize key contributors and set deadlines to ensure forward progress on new business opportunities.
- Work closely with procurement to obtain cost estimates for green coffee, packaging materials and other inputs relevant to new project costing.
- Obtain and utilize knowledge of material components for new products to ensure accurate pricing.
- Bridge the gap between sales and finance, securing new business with competitive prices while maintaining a strong profit margin.
- Attend customer meetings to identify customer changes that would affect pricing, and support pricing estimates as well as RFPs for new business.
- Communicate new project updates or changes from forecasted business to relevant parties.
- Support the Innovation team with new product trial coordination, production validations and complete cost capture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of relevant financial experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Management Information Systems, Accounting or related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing and supply chain environment is preferred.
- Strong influence management and interpersonal communication skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Detailed understanding of financial budgeting and forecasting concepts as well as modeling.
- A team player who is collaborative as well as receptive to ideas from others and works effectively across functions to identify and resolve critical issues.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- A creative, yet pragmatic, problem solver who is hands-on as well as detail oriented.
- Excellent planning, execution, and project management skills.
- Experience working with business system solution such as Host Analytics, Power BI etc. NetSuite experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially in Excel (Advanced MC Excel) and PowerPoint.
WORK ENVIROMENT:
- This position requires work in a warehouse roasting facility where there is exposure to loud equipment noise and subject to coffee dust strong odors.
- Personal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory in specific areas.
