Founded in 1977, the company operates from a 150,000 square foot manufacturing and roasting facility, more than 2 million pounds of green coffee storage facility, 50 million pounds annually of coffee roasting capacity as well as multiple roasting lines, flavor mixing systems and 14 automated packaging lines.

SALARY RANGE (EXEMPT): $78,500 - $82,000

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member of Cascade’s Leadership Team, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for green coffee tracking, supporting monthly financial reviews, forecasting, and annual operating plans across the site, interacting across the Cascade Coffee matrix to effectively communicate financial results and opportunities. This role will partner with a team of highly skilled professionals across the site to drive efficient processes, generate valuable insights and produce effective communication.
 
The ideal incumbent will be collaborative with exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills and have a strong business acumen with the ability to take a proactive yet collaborative approach to accomplish business goals.
 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with peers to obtain information as well as provide financial guidance and support in interpreting while analyzing financial issues. 
  • Maintain and improve standard cost setting and tracking system for green coffee.
  • Act as a financial business partner to internal stakeholders to provide financial planning, analysis and business growth support to the business management team. 
  • Manage the tracking of green coffee purchase quantities and costs. Communicate changes and coordinate product price implications with Customer Experience Managers. 
  • Manage weekly and monthly labor analysis. Communicate findings to operations and provide support with labor analysis comparison to budget.
  • Perform routine updates to company-wide, weekly KPIs and communicate trends to relevant parties.
  • Participate in weekly production scrap meetings to monitor the financial impacts.
  • Lead monthly departmental budget meetings, comparing spending to budget and ensuring correct designation of costs.
  • Review drafted quarterly repricing files and implemented approved changes into subsequent reforecasts.
  • Lead the annual budget process, working collaboratively with a multi-functional team.
  • Challenge key assumptions based on actual trends, knowledge of the business model, and the need to continuously improve overall profitability.
  • Ensure an accurate forecast is built with buy-in from all key leadership team members.
  • Monitor and support leaders in variance analysis of actual budget, business plan, forecast, strategic plans, and/or project-related initiatives such as profitability studies, cost modelling, sensitivity analysis, etc.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and propose alternate financial and business solutions to support business decision making and enhance profitability.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reviews as well as supporting narrative to financial statements and provide insights to leadership.
  • Support and partner on to improve reporting tools and processes to drive standardization to eliminate non-value-added tasks.
  • Collaborate with Accounting for oversight of the accounting close, account reconciliation process, and adherence to internal controls, ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Manage the preparation, review and analysis of various internal reports and ensure information is accurate and completed by the specified deadline date. 
  • Participate and/or lead special projects, prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis, when requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 years of relevant financial experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management Information Systems, Accounting or related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and supply chain environment is preferred.
  • Strong influence management skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Detailed understanding of financial budgeting and forecasting concepts and modeling.
  • A team player who is collaborative as well as receptive to ideas from others and works effectively across functions to identify and resolve critical issues.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
  • A creative, yet pragmatic, problem solver who is hands-on as well as detail oriented.
  • Excellent planning, execution, and project management skills.
  • Experience working with business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially in Excel (Advanced MC Excel) and PowerPoint​.
WORK ENVIROMENT:
  • This position requires work in a warehouse roasting facility where there is exposure to loud equipment noise and subject to coffee dust strong odors.
  • Personal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory in specific areas.
