SALARY RANGE (EXEMPT): $78,500 - $82,000, DOE (Full-Time) - Bonus eligible position!

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Analyst is an integral part of the quality team and will be responsible for capturing, documenting, and reporting data analytics to support customer needs as well as internal improvement initiatives. The analyst is also responsible for developing and implementing training modules associated with process improvement and job-specific employee responsibilities. Additionally, the analyst provides technical solutions to assist the manufacturing team with improving food safety and quality and escalates issues when necessary for resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership and accountability for document control and associated maintenance for all policies, procedures, work instructions, and records associated with food safety and quality.
- Capture relevant food safety and quality data from various inputs, review for accuracy and completeness, and record it in the appropriate system.
- Create and communicate food safety and quality metrics and KPIs for leadership and key clients.
- Ensure compliance with SQF standards.
- Communicate policies and standards to quality and manufacturing teams.
- Develop necessary training modules and oversee administration to associates regarding quality. Programs include coffee knowledge, general manufacturing practices, food safety, and SQF.
- Provide input for the development and improvement of quality and manufacturing data systems.
- Ensure all ingredient and packaging supplier documentation is maintained and current.
- Assist in implementation of new QMS systems and applications.
- Review and update as necessary internal product specifications and ensure they meet customer expectations and demands.
- May be asked to assist performing sensory evaluation on raw materials and finished product.
- Perform other tasks and duties relating to the department as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field preferred, or five years of relevant experience within the food and beverage industry.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, Organic, Kosher).
- Strong knowledge of and experience with HACCP and implementation of cGMP programs.
- PCQI certification a plus.
- Self-motivation, ability to work independently and within a team environment with strong follow up, organization and prioritization skills and excellent attention to detail is required.
- Proficiency in documentation and computing including report generation, database maintenance, resource tracking, and data analysis.
- Methodical and detail oriented; draft and submit accurate and complete technical reports within specific timeline.
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet critical monthly, quarterly and year end deadlines.
- Experience in food safety preventive controls, including sanitation controls, allergen controls, and supplier controls preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental monitoring practices and procedures preferred.
- High degree of organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required to efficiently accomplish work assignments.
- Proficient in Microsoft products (e.g., Office 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS (e.g. Paycor).
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Good analytical and organizational skills needed to plan and implement assignments and to work through consistent interruptions.
- Ability to address complex problems and propose viable solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
WORK ENVIROMENT AND EQUIPMENT
- This job is located within the corporate office, in an indoor environment.
- This position may occasionally support work in the warehouse roasting facility that requires constant standing on concrete floors, exposure to loud equipment noise and subject to strong odors.
- Use of appropriate personal protection equipment may be required, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices is mandatory.
