ABOUT CASCADE:
Cascade Community Healthcare (CCH) has been providing treatment services to Lewis County and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. Cascade currently has seven treatment locations in Lewis County.
We are looking for a Counselor to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team that meets the Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor credential criteria as defined by the Washington State Department of Health .

Applicants must have at least five (5) years of experience in direct treatment of persons with a mental disorder that was gained under the supervision of a mental health professional. Supervised experience time doesn’t start accumulating until after the applicant’s bachelor’s degree has been completed. Applicants may count experience attained prior to the completion of their degree if that experience was gained through a supervised practicum and/or internship as part of their degree program. Supervised experience needs to be gained under a credential issued by the department to practice counseling. Out-of-state supervised experience hours may count towards supervised experience as long as it was after the applicant's degree was completed and they held a credential to practice counseling in that state.
This position provides direct, supportive, and ongoing coordination of therapeutic services to assist clients with behavioral health disorders achieve the highest level of independence and stability possible in their community. Services delivered are recovery-focused and include but are not limited to case management, treatment planning, resource identification and assistance, identification and development of natural supports, advocacy, service monitoring and follow-up, collaboration with natural supports and other providers, and individual and group services. The Clinician I, Certified is responsible for assessing client functioning and needs and partnering with the client to develop an individually tailored care plan designed to promote recovery. This position also serves as a treatment team member and provides back up to other team members as needed.
Schedule:
This position is Monday - Friday with an after hours on-call rotation schedule (on-call schedule is on rotation with team members). This position is classified as being “non-exempt” according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.
PAY SCALE:
$28.19 - $34.36 Hourly, DOE
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE:
- Bachelor's degree in counseling or the social sciences required.
- Five years of supervised experience required.
- Washington State Department of Health credential required, or eligible to obtain credential: Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor (CAAC).
- Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background checks, National background check may be required if have not lived in WA state consecutively the last three years.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle legally in the state of Washington.
- Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Must represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
- Must maintain current home telephone and address on file with the Human Resources office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Collect information regarding clients’ history through a combination of interviewing, records review, and consultation, after obtaining written consent.
- Provides brief, solution-focused individual, group, and family therapy to a diverse caseload of adult members, as evidenced by direct observation, treatment team meetings, and clinical record review.
- Conduct and document preliminary behavioral health assessments, including mental status exam, DSM diagnosis, and clinical formulation and develop treatment plan with client.
- Provide medically appropriate treatment services to program participants which may include but are not limited to psychiatric rehabilitation, skills training, case management, psychotherapy, housing support, cognitive behavioral therapy, illness management and recovery, and other trauma specific services. Treatment services include community-based engagements, including transportation of clients.
- Participate in outreach activities necessary to offer services and engage participation in a non-coercive manner. Escort clients to meetings and appointments as necessary.
- Participate in evaluating clients for risk of harm & initiate higher-level crisis services when necessary.
- Participate in clinical staff meetings with team members to utilize interdisciplinary expertise and facilitate individual treatment plans for clients.
- Participate in admission and discharge planning for any client needing hospitalization or subacute level of care.
- Monitor and assure that the health and safety needs of clients are met.
- Maintain client records using an electronic medical record.
- Participate in providing after hours coverage for ACT participants.
- Participate in regular supervision from the clinical supervisor, seeking additional supervision whenever necessary.
- Must meet productivity/direct service requirements as assigned by program manager.
