Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to oversee and coordinate various construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent time management abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes. This role requires proficiency in construction management software and the ability to read blueprints effectively.
Duties
- Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Identify and allocate necessary resources, including labor, materials, and equipment
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors
- Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress and address issues promptly
- Mentor and guide team members to foster professional growth and enhance team performance
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure projects are completed within budget
- Prepare cost estimates and manage the financial aspects of the project, including invoicing and payment schedules
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety protocols are being followed
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Prepare and present regular project status reports, highlighting key metrics, milestones, and issues
- Facilitate effective communication among team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that all work meets specified standards
- Conduct inspections and assessments throughout the project lifecycle
- Address any quality issues and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions
- Manage any changes to contracts and project scope
- Ensure all project documentation is completed and approved
- Conduct post-project evaluations to analyze successes and areas for improvement
- Oversee the final inspection and handover of the project to the client
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master's degree preferred), and/ or a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management or a related role
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager or similar role in the construction industry
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., BuildersTrend, Bluebeam. Etc.)
- Excellent blueprint reading skills to interpret technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and contract management
- Strong project coordination skills with a focus on detail-oriented execution
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices on construction sites
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) and construction management tools (e.g.,BuildersTrend)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a plus, but not required
Working Conditions
- This is a full time, salaried position, based in Meridian, Idaho
- Ability to conduct site visits and inspections, which may require walking, lifting, and climbing
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions on construction sites
