What are the responsibilities and job description for the Luggage Delivery Driver position at Cascade Delivery?
We're looking for a responsible and reliable luggage Delivery Driver for Saturday and Sundays. Our drivers are Independent Contracts (1099) and will deliver delayed luggage to airline passengers within a large geographic area, beginning at the Eugene Airport as far south as Klamath Falls, Mid and Southern Willamette Valley and coastal from Lincoln City to Brookings.
The compensation will be paid at the first of the month for deliveries made the previous month and is based on delivery zip code distances from the Eugene Airport. Those rates will be shared on an individual basis.
The ideal person for this opening will need to be comfortable driving both short and long distances, in all weather and lighting conditions. We are a 7 day of the week, 365 days in the year delivery company, barring airport closures and/or impassable road services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to clearly communicate with others, both on the phone and in person. They must possess a smart phone with reliable coverage and be able to download and operate a Dispatch and Navigation app that we provide. They must also have a four-wheel/ all wheel drive vehicle that can hold multiple pieces of luggage and other items including sports equipment (skis, bikes, golf bag), and mobility aids(wheel chairs).
REQUIRED:
- A reliable vehicle (with proof of insurance). Drivers are solely responsible for all of the vehicle expenses. Vehicles capable of holding multiple pieces of luggage in an enclosed and secure environment.
- A current and valid Driver's License.
- A working smartphone with the ability to download a Dispatch Application for verifying, documenting and communicating in all phases of the delivery process, in real time.
- Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. This can include loading and unloading luggage in and out of your vehicle, with the possibility of carrying luggage up stairs and/or maneuvering on uneven ground.
- The ability to navigate driving using GPS programs, as well as follow delivery directions provided by the passenger.
- Maintain delivery paperwork in an organized and secure manner, documenting additional delivery information legibly, as needed.
- Drivers are required to have the ability to read, write, understand and speak English.
