Luggage Transportation Driver

We're looking for a responsible and reliable luggage Delivery Driver for Monday-Friday with a luggage pickup time of 8:00am. We are seeking an Independent Contractor (1099) that will deliver delayed luggage to airline passengers within a large geographic area from the Redmond airport location. While the bulk of deliveries are for Redmond/Bend area, many are for outlying areas, like Sunriver, LaPine and as far south as Klamath Falls and equal distances north and east. While we are seeking a driver for the 8 am sweep, the ideal candidate will be willing to back up other sweeps later in the weekday and on weekends during surges in volume. We are a 7 day of the week, 365 days of a year delivery company, barring extreme weather that has airports shut down or road surface impassable. All our drivers must be willing to participate in backing up other drivers in some capacity.

Cascade pays monthly for the previous month's deliveries. Pay is based on zones defined in 10 mile increments, radiating out from the airport. Those zone prices will be shared on an individual basis.

The ideal person for this opening will need to be comfortable driving both short and long distances, in all weather and lighting conditions. They must be capable of operating a navigation and delivery app we provide on their own smart phone. Drivers must have strong communication skills, both on the phone and in person.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A reliable vehicle (with proof of current auto insurance coverage). Drivers are solely responsible for all of the vehicle expenses. Vehicles capable of holding multiple pieces of luggage are preferred.
• A current and valid Driver's License.
• Pass a Federal TSA Background Check.
• A working smartphone with reliable cell phone coverage and the ability to download a Dispatch Application used for documenting, verifying and communicating in all phases of the deliveries, in real time.
• Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. This can include loading and unloading luggage, including sports equipment (bikes, skis) as well as mobility aids (wheel chairs) in and out of your vehicle, with the possibility of carrying items up stairs and/or maneuvering on uneven ground.
• The ability to navigate driving using GPS programs, as well as follow delivery directions provided by the passenger.
• Maintain delivery paperwork in an organized and secure manner, documenting additional delivery information legibly, as needed.
• Drivers are required to have the ability to read, write, understand and speak English.
