Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical records systems, and aseptic techniques. Hours: Monday 8:40-5:00; Tuesday 9:40-7:00; SOME Wednesdays ranging from 8:40-5:00; Thursday 8:40-5:00 Each day has an hour lunch.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Hygienist during various procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
- Prepare treatment rooms by setting up instruments and materials for dental procedures.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Utilize dental software systems, for scheduling and record management.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or Dental Hygiene Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and medical records systems is essential.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and four-handed dentistry practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and team members professionally.
