Immediate opening for Full-Time Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician:

Cascade Eye Center is a fun, fast paced clinic looking for a Technician to join our team! This role will support our Doctors and provide quality patient care.

Overall Responsibility:

  • Performs any combination of duties under the direction of our Ophthalmologist/Optometrists and Clinical Managers to assist in the examination and treatment of patients.

Key Tasks

  • Greet patients with a positive, friendly disposition.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Obtain patient history through intake assessment and record data into EMR.
  • Perform visual acuity, auto-refraction, manual lensometry and tonometry tests.
  • Check pupils, extra-ocular muscles, confrontation fields and insert eye drops for dilation.
  • Operate clinical testing equipment.
  • Scribe for Doctors.
  • Maintain exam rooms, including cleaning/sterilization as necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to transition from sitting to standing throughout the day.
  • Must be able to communicate via the telephone, email and instant messaging.
  • Must be able to view and type in computer data.

Healthcare experience preferred, but will train the right candidate if you have a desire to progress in the healthcare industry!

Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

This full-time position includes working in both our Hood River and The Dalles locations. Weekdays only. Competitive Health Insurance, Vacation, and Benefits Package.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
