Job Summary

The Head Lifeguard is a vital role within our Aquatics team and reports directly to the Aquatics Director. This position requires an individual who is not only skilled in lifeguarding but also has strong leadership capabilities to supervise shifts and ensure the smooth operation of the pool area. The Head Lifeguard will oversee lifeguard activities, ensure safety regulations are enforced, perform facility inspections, and address member concerns, while upholding Cascade Hills’ high standards of service and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of lifeguards on shift, ensuring all staff follow safety protocols and perform duties responsibly and efficiently.
• Enforce pool safety rules and regulations, and identify potential hazards to maintain a safe environment for all guests.
• Promptly respond to emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or any necessary assistance.
• Communicate any concerns, issues, or incidents to the Aquatics Director to maintain smooth operations.
• Display strong leadership by managing shifts, delegating tasks, and providing clear guidance to lifeguard staff.
• Address member concerns, questions, and comments in a professional manner, ensuring a positive experience.
• Assist in the training and development of new lifeguards, reinforcing proper safety techniques, customer service standards, and operational procedures.
• Perform regular pool maintenance checks, including water quality testing, cleaning, and equipment inspections.
• Maintain accurate records, including pool activities, incident logs, daily checklists and maintenance reports.
• Engage with guests, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
• Remain informed on details regarding swim team and pool-related events.
• Be prepared to perform physical tasks, such as heavy lifting for equipment setup or pool maintenance.

Experience and Qualifications

• Previous experience as a lifeguard is required, along with certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Familiarity with pool maintenance practices, water testing, and safety equipment is preferred.
• Strong swimming skills and the ability to perform rescues when necessary.
• Experience in customer service, particularly in a hospitality or leisure environment, is a plus.
• Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising teams, managing shifts, or training new staff.
• Ability to handle member concerns and inquiries with professionalism and tact.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
