Medical Assistant /Front Office Admin– Orthopedic or Podiatric experience a plus
Come join our healthcare team.Cascadia Foot & Ankle Specialists is a podiatry clinic with doctors that specialize in both conservative and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. We added a new doctor and are now in search of an additional certified medical assistant. Podiatry or orthopedic experience a plus. This is a fast paced, hands on position.The ideal candidate will be high energy, organized, and professional.We are dedicated to high quality patient care and are open to new ideas.Problem solvers are appreciated! We are looking for self starters and people with good judgement. We are mostly paperless and you must be tech savvy. A calm and compassionate demeanor is also a must.We’re a small office so teamwork, multitasking, and patience is a priority and being open to learning new skills. You will be an extension of the physician in providing patient care and documentation. You will also be a back up to the front office admin, assist with orders, referrals, prior authorizations, and surgery scheduling. We're unconventional and not stuffy but take our responsibility to excellent patient care seriously. We’re conveniently located by Valley River Center. Up to date Covid-19 vaccinations required.
Work Schedule
Full-time position expected to work 32 - 40 hours per week
Clinic hours will be 8-5 M-Th and 8-1:00 F
Compensation
Pay $19.00 depending on experience

Duties & responsibilities
Room and prepare patient for physician
Take patient history, vital signs, and review of systems and enter into EHR system
Assist medical provider during examination and treatment
Assist patients with mobility restrictions
Assist with patient referrals, prior auths, surgery scheduling, registration, and scheduling
Perform front and back office duties
This position will assist with overall delivery of patient care
This is a hands-on position.This is not a desk job although you will cross-train to cover front office staff.
Prepare exam rooms and instruments for examinations and procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications
Certification through a nationally recognized Medical Office Assistant or Medical Assistant certification program
CPR/BLS certified or ability to obtain
Tech Savvy
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Patient, upbeat, friendly manner with patients of all ages
Able to complete tasks with limited instruction. We are not hand holders or micro-managers. Must be responsible, reliable, and a problem solver
Able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to lift 25 lbs
Ability to stand most of the day
Covid-19 vaccinations required
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Limited X-Ray – foot and ankle would be a huge plus
Podiatric or orthopedic experience helpful
One year experience working as a medical assistance
Experience using an electronic health record system- Nextgen/Meditouch/Healthfusion
