We are a busy, well-established optometry practice with five locations in the Greater Portland area, and we’re looking for an experienced full-time optician to join our team. If you have a passion for delivering outstanding patient care and have a strong optical background, we’d love to meet you!

Experience Matters:

• We’re looking for someone with a proven background in the optical field who can hit the ground running. If you're already experienced in dispensing eyewear and providing excellent patient service, this role will be a great fit.

ABO Certification: Preferred but not required.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure smooth operation of eyewear services from initial assessment to sales and dispensing.
• Advise and educate patients on selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and style preferences.
• Take accurate measurements and provide proper fitting, adjustments, and repairs for eyewear.
• Instruct patients on the proper use and care of their eyewear.
• Place orders with the lab, track them, and ensure they meet ANSI standards.
• Act as a resource to staff and doctors for optical patient care and service issues.
• Manage record-keeping and filing accurately.
• Maintain display areas, eyeglass inventory, and supplies.
• Effectively operate and maintain optical equipment, keeping it calibrated.
• Stay updated on advancements in optical technology and equipment.
• Maintain relationships with approved vendors.
• Foster excellent rapport with patients, staff, management, and doctors.
• Ensure a high level of service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving complaints.
• Train and cover for other opticians across our offices.
