Job Summary: The Commercial Automotive Technician conducts inspections, tests, and data analysis needed to identify and resolve safety, performance, efficiency, and quality issues. This is in addition to routine repair and maintenance work.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs automotive system or component tests to determine performance, durability, and efficiency on commercial and fleet vehicles.
- Gathers and analyzes test data for related systems and parts.
- Determines the cause and nature of defects through inspections and testing.
- Performs repair and maintenance work in a timely fashion.
- Keeps the Service Advisors informed of repair order statuses.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and extremely accurate.
- Ability to solve problems.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Commercial vehicle experience preferred, but not required.
- Associates degree in Automotive Engineering Technology highly desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
