The Chicken Catcher's role is to humanely catch chickens in the house and place them in the transport cages using proper lifting and loading techniques. Catcher’s work using the upper extremities and bending at the waist to grab the birds, as well as lifting heavy loads through the workday. The work requires going to the farms and working as part of a crew to grab the birds in a way that avoids injury and minimizes stress.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
- Loading live chickens into cages for transport to the processing facility.
- Performs repetitive motions with upper extremities for the duration of the shift (8-9 hours).
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
- Ability to multitask and work quickly.
- Ability to work with others in a close environment.
- Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work quickly and multitask.

- Exposure to the elements (including inclement weather) daily.
- Exposed to varying temperatures and varying humidity’s.
- Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chicken feather) environment.

- Possible exposure to various chemicals.
- Work in a noisy environment (>85 decibels) with moving equipment.
- Work nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts.
