The Department Manager Trainee position will be a salaried role that prepares the holder for a supervisory position within Operations or Live Production areas of the complex.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
- Familiarizing self with the different aspects of the operation over the course of a given time in preparation for a permanent job assignment.
- Analyze, evaluate, and report on the different areas of operation assigned during the training process.
- Assuming responsibilities over assigned work areas under the leadership and guidance of the mentor.
- Champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of poultry operations or transferable skill-sets from other fields.
- Ability to work with computers, as well as office programs.
- Leadership ability, community-mindedness, ability to work in team environments.
- Ability to learn using hands-on experiences as well as mentoring.
- Management prefers an Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree desirable) from an accredited institution in Business Management, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or other related fields.

- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
