A Slitter Operator with Case Paper is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining slitting machines to cut large rolls of paper into smaller, specified widths. Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate slitting machines to cut and rewind paper rolls to customer specifications.
- Adjust machine settings, including tension, blade positioning, and speed, for optimal performance.
- Monitor production to ensure accuracy in dimensions and quality.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect paper rolls for defects such as wrinkles, tears, or inconsistencies.
- Measure and verify finished product dimensions using measuring tools.
- Ensure finished rolls meet company and customer specifications.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance on slitting machines, such as blade changes and lubrication.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Report major machine malfunctions to maintenance teams for repairs.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety guidelines and ensure a clean, hazard-free work area.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Adhere to company policies, including quality assurance and production standards.
- Material Handling & Documentation:
- Load jumbo rolls onto the machine using hoists or forklifts.
- Label and package finished rolls for shipping or further processing.
- Complete production logs and maintain records of output and machine performance.
- Previous experience operating slitting or rewinding machines in a paper, packaging, or printing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy rolls and stand for long periods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.

Salary : $17 - $19
