Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The annual giving graphic designer is responsible for creating compelling brand compliant visual content that supports fundraising solicitation and stewardship pieces. The incumbent will design engaging content for a high volume of print and digital pieces that effectively supports the university¿s annual giving goals. Functioning as part of a central annual giving team, the incumbent will be expected to work collegially, and in partnership, with central and school- and college-based colleagues as well as partners with University Marketing and Communications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- In conjunction with the director of annual giving direct engagement programs, design solicitation and stewardship pieces for print and digital channels that ensure success of the university's annual giving goals. Partner with school-based annual giving personnel with their specific solicitation campaigns. Create graphics and visuals that effectively convey stories and messages that resonate with audience segments. (70%)
- Translate concepts into effective visual communications that adhere to university brand standards. Advise colleagues on best practices and stay educated on design trends and tools to enhance annual giving materials. (20%)
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review performance of solicitations and stewardship pieces along with the director of annual giving direct engagement programs to adjust and improve upon the strategy. (5%)
- Work with vendors to ensure successful execution of solicitation and stewardship pieces. (5%)
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. (<1%)

Department: Frequent contact with other annual giving staff as required to perform essential functions.
University: Frequent contact with the college and professional school development staff, directors of administrative departments, faculty and staff as required to perform essential functions.
External: Contact with vendors as required to perform essential functions.
Students: Contact with students as required to perform essential functions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No direct supervisory responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 5 or more years of professional experience in a related field, 3 years in graphic design. Experience in non-profit organizations is preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proven experience as a graphic designer, preferably in a nonprofit sector or fundraising environment.
- Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn new programs. Proficiency in design software including Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with web design tools.
- Must be able to work independently and as a member of the development team. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects using different mediums.
- Must possess superior organizational skills and an attention to details.
- Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest.
- Ability to meet consistent attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office working environment. Working on weekends may be required to meet project deadlines. The work environment may be fast-paced and high-stress at times. Participation in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Hybrid Eligibility
This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department. New employees may begin a hybrid schedule upon approval from the supervisor, successful completion of an orientation period and signing the remote work checklist certification form.
