The Department of Community Dentistry within the School of Dental Medicine, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio, invites applications from exceptional candidates for two full-time Tenure Track Assistant Professor positions. The Department has an active funded research program in oral health disparities. The faculty of the Department of Community Dentistry and other researchers within the School of Dental Medicine comprise a diverse group of individuals with expertise in epidemiology, public health, statistics, nutrition, social sciences, imaging, immunology, and microbiology. We are actively seeking colleagues with expertise in conducting clinical trials and oral health disparities research.
Both applicants should be capable of establishing and maintaining an independent research program in oral health disparities. The positions will entail a focus on epidemiological methods and / or application of AI methods in health care. These may include clinical trials, big data, and psychosocial / behavioral issues related to oral health disparities research, particularly in at-risk, underserved, and special needs populations. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the department / school including instruction in the graduate and DMD curricula.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD, preferably in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or in social sciences.
Desirable candidates should :
- Have 1-5 years of post-doctoral experience / 3 years pre-doctoral experience in clinical trials
- The desired applicant should have a record of experience in health disparities research
- At least one candidate should have expertise in AI methodology for health care
- Have experience in co-writing federal and foundation grants
- Have experience in manuscript writing
- Leading or participating in observational studies / interventional trials in community or clinical based settings
- Have some experience in teaching
