What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cryo-ET/EM postdoctoral position immediately available in Zhu Lab at Case Western Reserve University position at Case Western Reserve University?
Cryo-ET / EM postdoctoral position immediately available in Zhu Lab at Case Western Reserve University
A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Zhu Lab in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Our lab focuses on understanding the interactions between intracellular pathogens and host cells, employing advanced microscopy techniques to investigate the in situ structure and physiological function of antimicrobial protein complexes.
We invite highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join our team. The lab has full access to cutting-edge cryo-correlative light and electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) and an Aquilos-2 cryo-focused ion beam scanning electron microscope (cryo-FIB / SEM), which are critical for cellular in situ cryo-ET studies. This position offers the opportunity to develop and apply various imaging techniques, including cryo-ET and high-resolution fluorescence microscopy, to investigate host cell defense mechanisms and pathogen adaptation within host cells.
Candidates should hold a in biochemistry, biophysics, microbiology, cell biology, or a related field. Interested applicants should email Dr. Shiwei Zhu () with the following documents : A cover letter outlining research interests and relevant experience; A current curriculum vitae (CV) and contact information for two academic referees. We look forward to receiving your application.
