POSITION OBJECTIVE
The director of leadership annual giving and donor experience will have primary responsibility for the planning and implementation of leadership annual giving fundraising for the university's central programs, focusing on individual giving at the leadership annual giving level ($10,000 to $99,999). The director will also lead the university's donor experience officer program with responsibility for the entire fundraising cycle from identification through stewardship for donors under $10,000 university-wide. The donor experience program will play a vital role in increasing the university's volume of gifts and donors as well as retention of annual giving donors impacting revenue to a multitude of programs and funds across the university. Functioning as a member of the central development team, the director will work in partnership with school and college development colleagues to raise the school's local, regional, state, national and international support and build the university's major gift pipeline.

Students: Infrequent contact with undergraduate, graduate, and professional students as required to perform essential functions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Direct supervision of three donor experience officers.
Qualifications
Experience: 7 or more years work experience; 3 years in development, engagement, or related field. Experience in non-profit organizations or higher education is preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Required Skills
General office environment; occasional nights and weekend hours will be required.
This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department. New employees may begin a hybrid schedule upon approval from the supervisor, successful completion of an orientation period and signing the remote work checklist certification form.

- Manage a portfolio of 175 prospects consisting of alumni, parents, and friends with a giving potential in the range of $10,000-$99,999; develop and implement strategic cultivation and solicitation strategies for each. Take a leadership role in building the university;s major gift pipeline by advancing leadership annual giving donors with higher capacity and interest toward larger commitments. Take the lead on gift solicitations and incorporate leadership and colleagues when necessary. (60%)
- Design, implement and evaluate an annual giving donor experience officer program. Develop and implement strategic cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors of less than $10,000 annually using in-person, direct-engagement, and digital tactics and tool. Set goals for donor experience officers and manage their performance. Coach donor experience officers to identify annual giving donors with inclination and capacity to make major or planned gifts. Work collaboratively with school-based development teams to understand and convey fundraising priorities. (25%)
- Design compelling donor proposals and program materials for use in solicitations. Track, analyze, and report all leadership annual fund donor activity and benchmark rates of success over time. Collaborate with school-based leadership annual giving staff on strategies for using annual giving societies to increased giving. (10%)

- Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn new programs. Proficiency working in CRMs and data visualization platforms.
- Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest.
