Casella Construction is seeking to hire an Aggregate Yard Foreman to join our Aggregate Team in Mendon, Vermont. The Aggregate Yard Foreman will be responsible for coordinating the activities of yard workers, managing inventory, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of materials.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aggregate materials management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively lead the production and sales of a 200,000 TPY operation.
- Ensure pit and mine activities are achieved to plan specifications.
- Identify operational deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all company and government policies and regulations.
- Organize and lead a team to achieve scheduled production load-out targets.
- Monitor interfaced cameras that overlook crushers, hoppers, and conveyors while in production.
- Coordinate maintenance tasks to ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation that follow company policies.
- Perform crusher machinery set up and take down, which includes running cables, hoses, setting up blocks, tarping, shoveling aggregate, etc.
- Keep crusher and other associated areas clean and organized.
- Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by MSHA and company policy.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of yard workers, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Oversee the loading, unloading, and storage of aggregate materials.
- Maintain inventory records and manage stock levels to meet operational needs.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise in the yard operations.
- Prepare and submit reports on yard activities, inventory levels, and equipment status.
- Training requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required.

- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and any required certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the construction or mining industry.
- Certification in heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be able safely to climb and dismount a ladder
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb inclines for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather.
