Job Title: Waste Management Apprentice
Casella Waste Systems Inc. seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Waste Management Apprentice. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operating a commercial motor vehicle and developing essential skills for a successful career in waste management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs pre/post trip inspections of assigned vehicles to ensure compliance with Casella safety standards and state/federal regulations;
- Provides exceptional customer service by interacting with customers in a courteous and timely manner;
- Follows route assignments and completes end-of-day documentation;
- Assists experienced drivers with backing maneuvers and completes assigned route sheets;
- Participates in training and learning opportunities to enhance knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
- Must be at least 18 years old;
- Hold a valid CDL Driver's Class B permit with air brake endorsement or obtain one within 6 months;
- Licensed to work in the United States;
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
