Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Casella Waste Systems. This role will be responsible for providing support in budget preparation and expense management activities, directing daily accounting functions, and guiding the financial operations of specific locations or facilities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Preparation and Expense Management: Assist in cash collection activities, work with cash applications and collections personnel, and execute internal controls and audits to preserve assets and maintain SOX compliance.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct ad hoc analyses of plant finances, prepare reports to facilitate decision-making, and complete financial statement preparation to ensure compliance with company, state, or official rules and regulations.
- Accounting Close Process: Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes to maintain organization and efficiency within assigned cost centers.
- Team Leadership and Development: Plan, organize, and guide projects to distribute work among employees, assess current accounting operations to determine recommendations or solutions for improvement, and manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in finance or another related field.
- 5-7 years of business experience with increasing responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
- Licensed to work in the US.
- Outstanding relationship management skills, excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, including Microsoft Dynamic for CRM or similar software and related systems.
