Our portfolio includes Casa Cody in the heart of iconic Palm Springs, The Pearl Hotel in San Diego, Hotel Marina Riviera in Big Bear Lake as well as The Surfrider in Malibu. Coming later this year we will open Hotel Willa in Taos, New Mexico, and Hotel Lucille in the heart of Los Angeles in the neighborhood of Silverlake. A project in upstate New York in the town of Hudson kicks off this summer. The portfolio is expanding at an intentional yet fast pace.
Reporting to: Restaurant Supervisor-Manager / Restaurant General Manager
Summary of Position: A Host is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression for guests by greeting, seating them, and managing reservations or waitlists. They ensure smooth front-of-house operations by coordinating table assignments and assisting with customer inquiries.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant.
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Communicate with servers and kitchen staff about seating arrangements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and entrance area.
- Answer phone calls and provide information about the restaurant, menu, and wait times.
- Assist with light duties such as refilling menus or organizing dining areas.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and friendly demeanor.
- Basic knowledge of reservation and POS systems (preferred but not required).
- Ability to stand for long periods and work flexible shifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing or walking.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
