Job Title: Custodian
Custodians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of school buildings. They ensure that facilities are safe, secure, and conducive to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn)
- Clean and preserve designated spaces, equipment, etc.
- Restock disposable items and provide inventory usage data
- Assist visiting public with directions and equipment setup
- Maintain building and grounds security
- Keep premises neat and clean at all times
Additional Duties:
- Scrubs and disinfects toilet floors daily
- Cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily
- Washes windows on both inside and outside at least twice a year
- Cleans all chalk or marker boards at least once a week
- Makes minor building repairs as capable
- Reports major repairs and damage to school property
- Secures doors and windows each school day
- Requisitions janitorial supplies and equipment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups
