We are looking for a talented and experienced Lathe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, a thorough understanding of mechanical drawings and dimensional tolerances, and a passion for precision and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine electric motor armature shafts, including tapering and threading.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings to produce parts with precise tolerances.
- Set up and operate various machines, including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses, to produce components to specifications.
- Perform threading operations using lathes and milling machines.
- Identify and understand steel types, properties, and characteristics to determine appropriate machining processes.
- Complete machining reports and maintain accurate paperwork.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with general laborer duties and provide support to the Brake Division as required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of machining experience (preferred).
Skills:
· Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and dimensional tolerances.
· Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
· Knowledge of steel properties and machining techniques.
· Familiarity with operating overhead cranes and forklifts (certification preferred).
