Job Summary:
In the context of our overarching foundation Building Community of Hope Goals, Strategic Engagement and Initiatives, which is a unit in the office of the CEO, develops national, regional, and local initiatives, which focus on improving the well-being outcomes of children, families, and communities. These initiatives are multi-sector collaborations and focus primarily on underserved populations and under resourced communities. The workgroup also develops and manages multiple relationships with philanthropic serving organizations (PSO’s), and other select foundations, and national non-profit organizations for the purpose of helping to change the national narrative around Building Communities of Hope.
This position will focus primarily on a new area of the foundation, which is influencing policy and practice improvements, and strengthening the field in the area of supporting children and families at the intersection of immigration and child and family well-being. This position will interface with entities across multiple sectors to help uplift the issues of immigrant or mixed status families at risk of entering child welfare systems or in the custody of child welfare systems, for the purpose of influencing greater support for this population.
The individual in this position will have relevant expertise in services to immigrant families and children, developing and managing cross-sector collaborations, initiative planning, development, and implementation, and effective engagement, including co-design strategies and structures.
This position will report directly to the Managing Director of Strategic Engagement and Initiatives, and will function within an internal collaborative management approach with other Managing Directors and Senior Directors in other work units. This internal team will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies for this focus area.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and implementation of strategies and efforts focused on defining and implementing the foundation’s role in addressing the scope of work in this new focus area.
- Establish and maintain a wide range of relationships with community based non-profit organizations, government, philanthropic entities, and those with lived experience to design collaborations focused on strengthening the field focused on the intersection of immigration and child welfare. Maintain an inventory of these relationships and potential relationships to maximize relationship development.
- Manage, coordinate and drive aspects of specific multi-sector initiatives, including researching and gaining an understanding of community cultures and structures, identifying, cultivating, and securing partners to pilot, implement, or build initiatives with aspects of systems change and program delivery. Establish necessary support structures for effective operations of collaborations. In some instances, oversee efforts to ensure community ownership to maintain and sustain ongoing efforts.
- Ensure knowledge management and information sharing between organizations, within collaborations, and within Casey Family Programs staff and leadership by developing and implementing internal and external education and engagement efforts, including facilitating the provision of technical assistance focused on specific topics for the Board of Trustees and leadership teams..
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of all aspects of each initiative to include program design, development, implementation, performance results, outcomes, collaboration partners, and recommendations.
- Attend and contribute expertise variety of community-based meetings with key stakeholders inside and outside of the organization. Prepare and deliver informational updates and presentations to community stakeholders and other key stakeholders.
- Support Managing Directors in shaping and coordinating sessions for the CFP Board of Trustees on specific topics, including the development and execution of relevant educational topics and site visits for the Casey Family Programs Board of Trustees.
- Establish and maintain trusting and effective internal relationships within SEI and throughout CFP to ensure effective support, team cohesion and integration across work efforts, projects, initiatives, and work groups
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA), Public Health (MPH), Social Work (MSW), or related degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of management level experience with community-based non-profit organizations, foundations, or government entities required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate clearly to diverse audiences. Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish strongly preferred
- Knowledge of resources (data, research, organizations, content experts) within the child welfare and immigration sectors.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, respect for tribal sovereignty, and respect for cultural, racial, gender, and ability differences is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to think critically about the factors that contribute to children and family’ well-being with a specific focus on underserved and disproportionately represented children, families and communities. Knowledge of the root causes and lived experiences of immigrant children, youth, and families as well as the landscape of various organizations focused on this populations
- Experience in developing, leading, sustaining, and transferring ownership to community of cross-sector, cross-systems collaborations with community as authentic partners
- Experience in program development and service delivery with immigrant populations.
- Strong leadership and management skills demonstrated through supervision and indirect supervision, internal and external relationship management.
- Ability to work with ambiguity, highly adaptable, and flexible, and ability to think critically and with an innovative mindset.
- Must have proven experience in developing and implementing programs and organization evaluations, including data collection and analysis.
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with particular emphasis an attention to detail; the ability to work independently and handle multiple on-going tasks; and the ability to coordinate among multiple agencies and partners required.
- Monitors programmatic delivery and spending through organizational procedures.
- Responsible for development of a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) approach to ensure delivery of excellent practice, consultation, and technical assistance for this population.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to also work in a team environment and with consultants .
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlooks). MS Project is preferred.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and reach for light objects; close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, text, and figures; ability to type utilizing a computer keyboard; ability to travel to outside locations; and the ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time as a primary job function.
- Travel of up to 50% is required. Driving on Casey business may require use of personal vehicle; adherence to vehicle safety guidelines and qualification for insurance is required.
This position is based at our Seattle, Washington Headquarters office. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary range between the minimum and the midpoint salary range, $152,000 to $178,900. Placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process. The full salary range for this role is $152,000 to $205,735 annually.
Casey Family Programs offers benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage, health and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts, eligibility for 403(b) and 401(a) retirement plans, disability, basic life, employee assistance plan and business travel insurance. Additionally, employees are eligible to accrue paid time off, starting at 8 hours per month of annual leave and 8 hours of sick time per month in the first year of employment. Casey Family Programs also observes 10 paid holidays per year and each employee receives one personal holiday to use each calendar year. Employees that meet certain tenure qualifiers are eligible for up to eight weeks of parental leave for the birth or placement of a child for adoption or foster care. After the completion of 10 years of continuous, full-time employment, employees in good standing are eligible for a three-month sabbatical with pay.
