The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality, and security of an organization's data. They collaborate with various teams to establish data governance policies and procedures and ensure compliance with data regulations.
This role will be responsible for implementing and managing the organization's data catalog and glossary system. The Data Governance Analyst will build relationships and partner with data owners and stewards from all lines of business, data, and technology to understand operational, technical, and analytical data needs. They will provide guidance and recommendations to shape the Data Governance program and contribute to the organization's overall data management strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Data Stewards to define data governance policies and standards.
- Conduct data quality assessments and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data governance compliance.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues.
- Monitor data access and usage to ensure compliance with data governance policies.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on data governance best practices.
- Participate in data governance committee meetings and provide insights and recommendations.
- Conduct data impact assessments for new projects and initiatives.
- Stay updated with data regulations and industry best practices to ensure data governance compliance.

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or Information Technology, or equivalent years of experience related to data engineering or data analytics.
- 3 years of experience in Data Governance, Compliance or Risk Management within a sizable organization.
- Familiarity with Data Governance platforms like Purview, Alation, and Collibra beneficial.
- Technically savvy with experience in process improvement and using data for analysis.
- Comfort with a variety of data sources including databases, BI tools, applications, streams, events, APIs, etc.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to remain organized and self-motivated.
- Experience writing SQL code.
- Understanding of data modeling techniques.

This role does not allow for 100% remote work. Qualified candidates will need to live within a daily commutable distance of Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny IA and be willing to work in a hybrid work environment consisting of 3 days per week onsite.
