Join Casey's Data & Analytics team as the Manager, Enterprise Data! As the Manager, Enterprise Data, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a reliable data and analytics architecture. You'll collaborate with peers from data & analytics, technology, and business stakeholders to recognize data needs throughout the organization. In addition, you'll direct the enterprise data lake team in an agile environment with an emphasis on iterative development while maintaining awareness of new functionality and industry trends. You'll provide input and influence the roadmap and strategic vision for data platforms with an eye toward performance and cost optimizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides data engineering enablement through collaborative design of patterns and tooling support.
- Evangelist for the Enterprise Data Lake, forging partnerships with application technology teams to enable inbound and outbound data use cases.
- Responsible for monitoring and performance tuning of cloud data platforms.
- Responsible for managing access to compute, data, and underlying data lake storage across technology and business teams in partnership with Identity and Access Management.
- Ensure data governance and compliance with industry standards and regulations, implementing best practices for data quality, privacy, and security.
- Identifies and implements the appropriate technical solutions to fulfill requirements and partners with Product Management and business partners to recognize new technical needs throughout the organization.
- Collaborates with the Enterprise and Solution Architects to ensure that proposed technical solutions meet the requested business needs and perform effectively and efficiently within the Casey’s technical architecture.
- Works with team to identify and act on opportunities that keep solutions running optimally.
- Defines timelines for team goals as they align to overall organizational objectives. Ensures work being done by team is jointly and regularly prioritized between the team, Program Management and their respective business partners.
- Understands and keeps up to date with latest technology trends while embedding those standards within the team. Promotes individual learning and self-directed development of team members.
- Assists team members with issues needing technical expertise, complex systems and/or programming knowledge.
- Lead a strong team of professionals assigned to major initiatives. Responsible for hiring, training, salary administration, performance management and corrective actions for direct reports. Collaborate with team members on career development and goal setting.

This role does not allow for 100% remote work. Qualified out of state candidates must be willing to relocate and will need to live within a daily commutable distance of Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA and be willing to work in a hybrid work environment consisting of 3 days per week onsite.
Compensation:
Starting pay range: $120,200-167,300. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for annual cash bonuses based on company performance and an annual equity grant in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the typical hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or related discipline or work-related equivalent experience required.
- At least seven (7) years of progressive experience leading and managing a team building custom technical solutions and implementing 3rd-party products.
- Extensive experience managing a technical team and working with a variety of data architectures as a manager, engineer, analyst, or consumer.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to comfortably work with Senior Management and be able to provide constructive input into the discussion.
- Experience with Data Lake architecture and security patterns is required.
- Understanding of fundamental networking and security considerations for operating in a cloud environment is required.
- Experience with data warehousing, Online Transaction Processing (OLTP)/ Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) database models, and data engineering practices is required.
- Fluent in relational database design and development, and various data transfer concepts.
- Strong organizational and process improvement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate requirements into design and subsequent solution build.
- Ability to collaborate across IT disciplines and teams including third parties.
- Strong knowledge of IT best practices and agile development methodologies is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms and architectures as well as technologies such as ADLS, Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Redshift, Teradata, Relational Databases, and cloud storage providers is preferred.
- Experience with source control (Git, Team Foundation), CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM) is preferred.
- Knowledge of business intelligence platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, and analytical development tools (e.g. R, Python, and Excel) is preferred.
