The Product Manager is responsible for setting product strategy, prioritizing features, building consensus, and coordinating product schedules with design and engineering teammates. They are a strategist who will translate the company's high-level vision and goals into actionable tasks. The Product Manager will work with a development counterpart to define product release requirements based on business and market problems and with business function leadership to help define the go-to-market strategy by providing key product and market insights.
Key Responsibilities
This role does not allow for 100% remote work. Qualified out of state candidates must be willing to relocate and will need to live within a daily commutable distance of Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA and be willing to work in a hybrid work environment consisting of 3 days per week onsite.
Compensation
Starting pay range: $108,600-151,300. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for annual cash bonuses based on company performance and an annual equity grant in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the typical hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of professional team members within the product space assigned to major initiatives. Responsible for hiring, training, salary administration, performance management and corrective actions for direct reports. Collaborate with team members on career development and goal setting.
- Partner closely with a business function leadership team to understand the company and function's high-level vision and goals. Serve as a proactive technology consultant and liaison to IT. Develop trusted relationships with business leadership.
- Responsible for defining and tracking KPIs to measure product performance and user satisfaction. Use data-driven insights to optimize products and identify growth opportunities. Stay updated with industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies.
- Know why we are winning and losing in the market, and drive changes to our product and processes to create improvement. Keep a finger on the pulse of our competition and develop strategies and tactics to reduce the threat. Develop and maintain a business proposal that makes a compelling case for continued investment into products.
- Act as the "messenger of the market" from the outside-in to the rest of the organization. Analyze various market offerings and collaborate with leadership to choose the best products to pursue. Drive buy-build-partner analysis, and where necessary, review potential partner relationships for the product.
- Manage the intake and prioritization process in collaboration with business stakeholders and product and technology leadership. Drive a consistent process across the organization ensuring alignment across teams. Proven track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making.
- Responsible for developing a three-year roadmap for our products to illustrate our vision and plan into the future. Manage the entire product line life cycle from sunsetting legacy products to prototyping and testing new features/products and ideas. Establish MVPs for current and future products based on roadmap. Define work at an Epic level in collaboration with Program Management, enabling the agile teams to decompose work into stories.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Management. MBA preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of retail technology experience and product management experience.
- Certified in Product Management. Pragmatic Marketing Certified (PMC) III or higher strongly preferred.
- Experience with best practice agile scrum development.
- Experience with Collaboration tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Smartsheets, etc.).
- Experience with Product Management tools (e.g. Aha, Product Plan, and JIRA Align).
- Strong understanding of convenience store industry is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience and solid understanding of POS systems, Event-driven applications, and E-commerce platform (Hybris) is strongly preferred.
