What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide position at Caseyville Nursing and Rehab?
Caseyville NRC is a skilled nursing community, who strives to provide clinical excellence and compassionate care to our residents. Our community is in need of 1 part time Evening Dietary Aides. PT Dietary Aides are needed for kitchen work, dishwashing duties and delivery of food carts to hallways. PT Evening aides at 3:00pm-7:00pm
Candidates should desire to be a part of a quality health care team with emphasis on supporting the mission and vision of our facility in its efforts to support our residents, family members, co-worker’s general public.
Job Summary: To practice sanitary food handling and prepare foods which are appetizing, palatable, and in accordance with regular and therapeutic diets, as ordered by the resident’s physician.
- Duties, include but are not limited to:
- Prepare food according to standardized recipes.
- Wash, peel. cut, trim vegetables, fruits, or meat.
- Carve portions of meat, fish or fowl for individual servings; prepares and applies gravy, sauce or garnish, as needed.
- Prepare food for distribution to steam table
- Prepare cold meat sandwiches and cooked cereals, prepare salads, desserts, pastries, breads and nourishments.
- Check food temperature at each meal, test foods by taste and smell to determine if properly cooked and seasoned before service.
- Clean preparation equipment before leaving work area; wash pots, pans, sinks, or other related cleaning duties as assigned.
- Refrigerate all leftover foods. Label and date them and utilize the leftover foods as soon as possible. Discard leftover food in refrigerator after three days (mayonnaise or salad dressing foods are 48 hours).
- Put stock away on delivery day.
- Maintain work areas in a clean and safe manner by keeping work area free from hazardous objects. Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the Dietary Manager. Maintenance issues should be reported to the Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with facility protocols.
- Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all resident information.
- Follow facility established safety and infection control practices when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
- Prepare and pick-up dishes. Run carts to the tray line and operate the dishwasher.
Job Types: Part-time: 3pm-7:30pm
Salary: $14.00 per hour
