Job Description:
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for making sure that all dishes, and cooking supplies are clean, and making sure that all surrounding areas are clean and well maintained.
Job Requirements:
- Washing of all dishes cleared from the dining areas.
- Washing all heavy pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
- You may also be dusting, sweeping, and mopping various kitchen areas.
- Keeping an eye on the kitchen garbage and emptying it as needed.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guests, fellow team members, and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma and/or GED preferred.
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or as a dishwasher is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- The ability to take and follow directions well.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- The ability to maintain composure in a fast paced, potentially stressful environment.
- The ability to successfully interact with all levels of team members and management.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
