What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Visitor Counselor/Hospitality (Through Labor Day) position at Casino Reinvestment Development Authority?
JOB SUMMARY: The Seasonal Visitor Welcome Counselor will deliver proactive counseling to tourists including food, beverage, entertainment, and lodging recommendations. The position begins in May and ends in September.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide front line customer service at the Visitor Welcome Center. Follow through with input tracking program at appropriate site.
2. Responsible for labeling, storage, and sale of merchandise, assist customers in finding room reservations by calling and searching the internet and ticket sales.
3. Responsible for requesting brochures, unpacking the delivery, and proper placement of promotional materials.
4. Responsible for upkeep and appearance of reception and public area.
5. Service visitor inquiries while being pleasant and helpful.
6. Be familiar with member brochures and their placement within the Welcome Center racks.
7. Keep up to date with what is going on in the Atlantic City and Cape May County regions through the newspapers and various publications. Assist in restocking brochure rack when the current stock gets below ten pieces.
8. Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and Internet knowledge.
- Cheerful disposition; a “people person”.
- Knowledge of the Atlantic City and Cape May County region tourism industry.
- Be able to obtain a security clearance to operate NJ Lottery equipment at appropriate site.
- Ability to communicate in both oral and written formats.
- Ability to handle people in a friendly manner and make logical and decisive decisions.
- Advanced knowledge of visitor information services and the tourism/hospitality industry preferred.
