POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Program Coordinator in the day-to-day operations of the assigned Casita Maria after-school and summer camp program for youth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to co-training, co-managing, and co-evaluating a team of professionals and co-implementing the youth program’s curriculum and design in a proficient manner to meet contractual obligations while maintaining a safe environment in accordance with various regulations. Additionally, the Associate Program Coordinator is co-responsible for the program development and managing relations with school and program partners.
The Associate Program Coordinator will be supported by a team of Education professionals including the Director of Education and Programs, the Program Coordinator, Education Specialist, Outreach & Family Coordinator, Group Facilitators, Teaching Artists, and Interns/Volunteers. Team members also collaborate with other department leaders including Creative Arts.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the oversight of after-school and summer camp programs, ensuring alignment with Casita Maria’s mission, strategy, and objectives, while ensuring contractual requirements are met.
- In coordination with the Program staff, develop work scope, manage and implement a program schedule of activities in accordance with specifications and funding limitations.
- In coordination with the Program Coordinator, implement high-quality programming, which includes a supportive and engaging environment.
- In coordination with the Program Coordinator, the Director of Education and Programs and HR, co-interview, co-train, co-manage and co-evaluate a team of professionals including but not limited to Group Facilitators and Interns/ Volunteers.
- Regularly assists in the supervision of transporting participants from their school to the after-school program at Casita Maria.
- Co-Supervise, observe and conduct weekly/monthly staff meetings with direct reports.
- Enter weekly data and attendance on the required database, DYCD Connect.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of program documentation (attendance, sign-in/out forms, behavior/incident/accident reports, as appropriate).
- Assist in distributing, receiving, auditing and managing program files and participant applications to ensure that the required regulations are met.
- Co-facilitate parent orientations and collaborate with families to increase family engagement.
- Alongside the Program Coordinator, recruit, enroll and retain program participants by utilizing approved promotional or marketing methods at parent-teacher conferences and school/community meetings.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, youth, other community based organizations and program partnerships.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication about their child’s strengths and growth areas.
- Create and maintain a welcoming, productive, and encouraging environment for participants, their families, and members of the community.
- Adhere to all Department of Health, DYCD, Casita Maria’s, and funder standards, expectations, and regulations.
- The position is required to complete 30 hours of training that address topics and subject matter set forth in school-aged child care regulation 414.14 (d)
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree and at least two years of experience working with youth grades K- 8.
- Experience working in Youth Development in an educational or non-profit setting preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Exceptional writing and editorial skills required; clear verbal communication skills required.
- Strong computer skills: knowledge of Google Drive suite and other standard business technology is required.
- Ability to meet deadlines, attend meetings and prioritize tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The compensation range for this in-person position is $47,000 - $50,000. Casita Maria offers its full-time employees a robust benefits package including medical; dental; vision; life insurance; health and dependent care savings account; commuter benefits; 403(b) and pension plan.
