Responsibilities:

The Enterprise Software Administrator is responsible for the smooth operation of Administrative and related software tools. This position provides services to the entire campus population, including 500 employees and 4000 students. These services include payroll, financial information, student registration and database access, as well as personal data on employees, students and former students. This position will participate in any future planning for ERP & SIS and related software. . This position reports to the Enterprise Data Coordinator and works closely with all IT staff to achieve departmental goals.

Essential Duties

• Manage and administer the Colleague software including providing primary customer support for administrative computing functions.
• Assist enterprise computing in providing support for servers and software for student, faculty and employee access.
• Act as technical lead for Ellucian Self Service, to include new module installation, setup, and maintenance and to ensure the servers are functioning properly and have adequate resources.
• Manage and administer security classes for all Colleague users.
• Manage and ensure the integrity of the Colleague software as well as the associated data.
• Design and perform internal system security audits, system backup procedures and work with Enterprise Data Coordinator to develop and implement disaster recovery procedures.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to the software, including the timeliness of periodic reports, and a record of patches released and applied.
• Assess need for any system reconfigurations and execute them if necessary.
• Recommend, schedule and perform software improvements and upgrades.
• Work with the Enterprise Systems Coordinator to ensure that the server(s) running Colleague are functioning properly and have adequate resources available for applications.
• Use ancillary programs such as Colleague Studio to provide customized solutions based upon data with the Datatel/Colleague system.
• Act as technical member for the Casper College Internal ERP user group by attending relevant meetings.
• Must be willing to occasionally travel and attend relevant regional and national conferences to stay up to date on issues and trends related to the college administrative computing system.
• May be required to occasionally work hours outside of normal working hours.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in computer technology or related field, or an Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution in computer technology or related field with a minimum of 2 years IT-related experience, or high school diploma with a minimum of 4 years IT-related experience
• Minimum of 1 year Administrative or Enterprise Computing Software experience
• Knowledge of relational database systems (ie, Microsoft or Oracle)
• Working knowledge of enterprise level database systems (ie, SQL)
• Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

• Experience with Ellucian Colleague, specifically Studio/Envision Basic Functions
• Experience with higher education-specific programs, such as Student Self Service platforms, Student Information Systems (SIS), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)/Slate
• Experience with Microsoft ISS and SQL Server administration
• Strong SQL background and familiarity with integrations and data feed, experience with Unidata or other multivalued database
• Experience with SAP Business Objects, such as universe design, report writing, and administration

• Knowledge of procedural programming (C, C , C#, Python, etc)

• Familiarity with Document Imaging/SoftDocs

Supplemental Information

Work Environment:

Typical work environment is in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Work is sedentary in nature and is usually performed during the normal workday. However, occasional early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings and doing site/project inspections in various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift/or move 30 pounds. At times, they may have to lift heavier objects /equipment. Must be able to remain stationary for a majority of the work day with prolonged hours in front of a computer screen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Also requires acute manual dexterity and continuous mental alertness and attention.
