Environmental Health Specialist

Job Summary
The Environmental Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices within the organization. This position involves assessing environmental impact, implementing safety protocols, and developing training programs to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Duties

• Conduct regular assessments of environmental conditions and compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental health and safety (EHS) programs to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
• Perform root cause analysis for incidents related to occupational health and safety, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed reports on findings from inspections, audits, and assessments, ensuring accurate documentation of compliance status.
• Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay updated on changes in workers compensation law and other relevant regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of EPA regulations and OSHA standards related to occupational health and safety.
• Proficiency in report writing with the ability to clearly communicate complex information.
• Experience in training development to effectively educate staff on EHS practices.
• Familiarity with workers compensation processes and laws.
• Certification in CPR is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis of incidents.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

Pay: $47,292.00 - $56,159.00 per year
