Heavy Truck Fabrication Specialist (HEAVY DUTY TRUCK ASSEMBLY):
Casper’s Truck Equipment has openings for Heavy Truck Fabrication Technician with background in heavy duty trucks. Fabrication Technicians are responsible for modifying, fabricating, welding and installing equipment onto Heavy Truck (Class 7-8) Trucks to customer specifications. He/she must be willing to learn and having a strong attendance record.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Create a safe working environment.
Building and Customizing heavy duty s with a variety of parts to customer specs.
Welding fabricated components to an assortment of Heavy Trucks.
Plumbing Hydraulics on an assortment of Heavy Truck.
Welding accessories onto Heavy Duty dump bodies.
Reading and understanding repair orders.
Properly allocating time spent on repair orders.
Ensure a timely turnaround of vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Mechanical experience with heavy duty trucks.
Math skills
Strong experience and ability to weld / fabricate
Understanding of hydraulics
Knowledge of truck equipment electrical systems
Excellent communication skills.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Strong attendance record.
Must be able to work off a Repair Order.
Must be self-sufficient and driven.
Valid Wisconsin driver's license
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Successful applicants must provide their own tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work performed in a shop
Ability to use carts, forklifts, hand truck, pallet, jack, hand and power tools
Frequent lifting of 60-100 pounds
Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 8 hours per day
Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas, and/or fumes
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
